It was a truly special event, touching and reflective. The high school, now celebrating its 18th anniversary, gained a Patron – a true renaissance man, outstanding scientist, four-time rector of Lodz University of Technology, as well as the founder and friend of the school.

“Honoring a Great Man”

The act of naming was performed by the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik. Professor not only created this school, but for years remained its devoted friend. He accompanied us during the most important moments, supported students and teachers, inspired with his attitude and passion for science. This is a tribute, honoring a Great Man, a friend to all and everything. Professor was a visionary and an innovator – that is why the school bears his name today, emphasized the Rector.

The ceremonial document includes words that will guide future generations of students: May the Patron’s name be a source of pride, a commitment to upholding the highest standards of learning and education, and a symbol of unflagging curiosity and creativity.

A Patron Who Inspires

The school’s principal, Izabella Kapłon, remarked that the choice of patron is not only a tribute to Professor Krysiński’s achievements, but also an expression of gratitude and a commitment to his values. Professor Krysiński was an exceptionally kind, open, and approachable person. Teachers and students felt that connection every day. He was a symbol of scientific passion and openness to the world. Being his namesake is a source of pride for us, but also a responsibility, she said.

Attendees remembered that Professor believed wholeheartedly in the importance of education and felt high school to be the foundation for the future—a place meant to spark curiosity, making students want to learn on their own.

The Family’s Gratitude

On behalf of the family, Tomasz Krysiński, Professor’s son, spoke: This is an incredibly moving moment. Thank you for organizing this ceremony, which is a beautiful testimony to my Father’s memory, he said. He also pledged to establish an annual award for the school’s top student, fulfilling his father’s wish expressed before passing.

They also reminisced about Professor Jan Krysiński’s extraordinary relationship with his wife, Dr. Halina Krysińska. Together they formed a duo full of love, mutual support, and dedication—values that formed the foundation of his personal and professional life.
