The result, placing Lodz University of Technology in the upper half of the European list, confirms the university’s stable position as one of the most important institutions in Poland and Europe. The university also achieved strong results in the main engineering disciplines.
The greatest success came in chemical engineering, where Lodz University of Technology ranked 3rd in Poland and 77th in Europe, placing it among the leading research centres in this discipline. The university was classified in all seven major engineering fields, also obtaining high scores in mechanical, materials and electrical engineering as well as in electronics and computer science.
EngiRank is the first European ranking of technical universities based on indicators reflecting regional characteristics, such as participation in Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ programmes, ABET/ENAEE engineering accreditations, and impact on sustainable development.
At the top of the ranking were the Technical University of Denmark (Denmark), Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), and KU Leuven (Belgium). Among Polish universities in the Top 100 were: AGH University of Krakow (50), Silesian University of Technology and Gdańsk University of Technology (tied at 67), Warsaw University of Technology (72), and Wrocław University of Science and Technology (76).
The ranking was developed by the Educational Foundation “Perspektywy” in cooperation with Elsevier and with the media support of the Polish Press Agency (PAP).
