On the occasion of the 80th jubilee of the founding of Lodz University of Technology, a ceremonial session of the Senate was held. The program of the celebrations included a speech by the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik. During the session, students and graduates were honored for outstanding achievements and the best diploma projects. A special part of the program was the presentation of awards by the Rector of Lodz University of Technology.

During his speech, Rector Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik emphasized the symbolic significance of the oak tree growing in Klepacz Park as a sign of the endurance and academic ambition of the university community. He recalled the extraordinary effort of the creators of Lodz University of Technology, who built the university from the ground up in the difficult post-war conditions. The acquisition of former Rosenblatt factory buildings made it possible to create a unique campus in the heart of Lodz.


The ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests—representatives of the world of science, politics, and business. Their presence was a mark of recognition for the university’s achievements and a celebration of this important anniversary.


The Rector pointed to the key role Lodz University of Technology has played in the industrial development of the city, as well as its importance as a center of scientific, cultural, and sporting life.


A short film reminded the audience of the late Prof. Jan Krysiński—long-time rector, founder of IFE, and reformer of the university.

In his speech, the Rector spoke about the successes of Lodz University of Technology on the international stage—including participation in the ECIU network and Horizon Europe projects. He appreciated the activity of young researchers and students, the development of the E2TOP program, and successes in scientific and sports competitions. He emphasized the importance of the “More with TUL” program.


The entire community celebrates the anniversary—through tournaments, competitions, and outdoor events.


The Rector spoke about cooperation with the graduates, and several of them sent their congratulations on video.

Emotions were stirred by the space mission of Lodz University of Technology graduate—Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski,PhD. The “Siła wspólnoty” (Strength of the Community) mentoring program is also important. Rector Prof. Jóźwik announced that an honorary doctorate will be awarded to Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament.


He concluded his speech with wishes for the entire university—development, modern education, and pride in the community.
