Anna Masek holds a post-doctoral degree in polymer technology and is currently employed as a university professor at the Institute of Polymer and Dye Technology at TUL. She is the leader of a research team working on bio-inspired polymer composites. Prof. A. Masek heads a polymer materials ageing laboratory that is unique in the country. She is the author of many breakthrough technologies solving global waste management problems by implementing a new generation of biodegradable polymeric materials.

Inventions developed by Prof. Masek have been awarded over a dozen medals and special prizes at international invention fairs and exhibitions, among others, in Canada, Thailand, and Romania, including the grand prize of the 9th World Competition of Chemical Inventions, co-organised by the International Federation of Inventors’ Association as part of the IWIS 2020 International Warsaw Invention Show, and have received the prestigious PARP distinction in the "Polish Product of the Future" competition and the Eureka 2020 award. She has co-authored 15 chapters in monographs, more than 120 articles in international high-impact factor (IF) journals with an H-index of 22. She has co-authored 31 patents and patent applications. She has collaborated with many prestigious scientific and industrial entities at home and abroad (USA, Germany, Turkey, Sweden, Italy).

She is the leader and scientific supervisor of several research projects funded by the Ministry of Education and Science (Juwentus Plus, Diamond Grant Incubator), the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) (Lider, POIR) and a member of research teams of projects funded from the State Committee for Scientific Research (KBN)/the National Science Centre (NCN)/the EU. The candidate has significant experience in domestic and international collaborations with large companies in the construction, fuel and polymer composites industries, particularly concerning packaging.

She is the author of three commercialised know-how purchased by Polish and foreign companies. Currently, Prof. Masek is in charge of three large research and development projects at TUL, financed in large part by companies, including one Polish-American project. She is an expert for the National Centre for Research and

Development (NCBR), the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) and a reviewer in international journals. Since 2022 she has been the president of the Lodz branch of the Society of Engineers and Chemists of the Chemical Industry (SITPChem).

She is a supervisor and scientific mentor of 8 PhD theses, including 3 implementation PhD theses, and over 135 engineering and master's theses.

She is the supervisor of the Polymer Student Scientific Circle. For her teaching achievements in 2018, Prof. Masek was awarded the Medal of the National Education Commission.
