Prof. Dariusz Gawin (discipline: civil engineering and transport, Web of Science Core Collection: h-index – 27, no. of publications (2013-2021) – 27, no. of citations for publications from the years 2013-2021 – 146. SciVal: Output in 10% Citation Percentiles (%) – 22.8%. Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) for publications from the years 2013-2021 – 1.97) is the Head of the Department of Building Materials Physics and Sustainable Design at Lodz University of Technology, and Chairperson of Lodz University of Technology Council for Academic Degrees in the fields of civil engineering, transport, architecture and urban planning.

His research interests mainly concern theoretical and computational poromechanics, using AI methods in building physics, energy efficient and sustainable civil engineering, durability of building materials, and modelling coupled chemo-hygro-thermomechanical processes in porous materials.

Prof. Gawin has managed 7 national and 5 international research projects.

Author of over 450 journal articles and scientific conference talks.

Author of 2 national patents and member of editorial/scientific committees of 3 international and 2 national journals indexed in Web of Science and SCOPUS databases.

Professor Gawin has done internships at numerous research centres, e.g., at the University of Padua (post-doctoral internship, visiting professor) and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA (research associate).

Ordinary member of the Committee on Civil Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences and head of the Section of Building Physics of the committee.
