The New European Bauhaus Academy (NEBA), a flagship initiative of the European Commission on skills for sustainable construction, accelerates the up-skilling and re-skilling of the current and future workforce to transition to a resilient European construction sector.
The NEBA Alliance is a project consortium funded by the European Commission from 2024 to 2026. The main purpose is to create the conceptual and legal basis for the NEB Academy setup and to establish the initial network of Hubs and training infrastructures.
The NEBA Alliance consortium involves a diverse group of 14 partners from 11 different EU countries.
The NEB Academy is poised to spearhead skill development for the Renovation Wave by engaging key stakeholders in construction, engineering, architecture, and planning. By connecting educators and trainers, the Academy aims to ensure a widespread impact across the entire construction ecosystem.

Project objective
NEB Academy’s mission is to train, upskill, and reskill the construction ecosystem to achieve a carbon neutral building sector and a beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive transformation of the built environment. The ambition is to establish NEBA as the European point of reference for skills and knowledge on bio-based, circular and digital solutions in construction.

Role of TUL
Lodz University of Technology brings the expertise in a consortium in the field of architectural and urban design, adaptation of historical buildings, urban revitalisation, cultural heritage protection, nature-based solutions in architecture and urban planning, and digital technologies (BIM).
Expected Impact
The expected impact of the NEBA Alliance project can be described as a long-term strengthening of Europe’s capacity to bring about the green and digital transformation of the construction sector through the development of human capital, knowledge transfer and the establishment of a sustainable European cooperation network. The project is not limited to the transfer of knowledge, but creates a mechanism enabling its systematic dissemination and practical application.
