The National Centre for Research and Development has announced a competition under the Strategic Research and Development Programme "Advanced information, telecommunication and mechatronic technologies". - INFOSTRATEG. Applications for funding can be submitted from 4 January to 26 February 2021 (by 4:00 p.m.).

The competition is addressed to:

  • research units,

  • entrepreneurs,

  • consortia consisting of maximum 3 entities:

    • only research units,

    • only enterprises,

    • scientific entities and enterprises.

The individual applicant or consortium leader must be the entity that will implement the project results.

The thematic scope includes:

  • TOPIC 2. Medical image recognition - exclusively in the field of:
    • respiratory tract (in particular in relation to COVID 19 risk),

    • female breast cancer,

    • male prostate cancer.

  • TOPIC 11. Verification of information sources and detection of fake news.

Funding may be granted for the implementation of:

  • stage I, which includes industrial research and/or development and focuses on:
    • creation of a preliminary version of the system that can be evaluated,

    • collecting the necessary data for the project in the form of databases;

  • stage II, which includes industrial research and/or development and focuses on
    • creation of a generic system capable of handling all usage scenarios;
  • stage III, which includes industrial research and/or development and/or pre-implementation work and focuses on:
    • improving the resulting system,

    • preparing to implement the results achieved in stages I and II.


Each project must consist of the 3 above-mentioned stages and each stage of the project may include a maximum of 3 tasks.

Budget of the competition:

The funds allocated for financing the implementation of projects selected in the competition amount to 60 million PLN (30 million for each thematic scope).

Rules of project funding:

  • Maximum amount of project co-financing:
    • PLN 10 million for a project implemented in case of topic no. 2;

    • PLN 8 million for a project implemented in case of topic no. 11

  • Minimum amount of project co-financing:
    • PLN 3.5 million for a project implemented in case of topic no. 2;

    • PLN 1.7 million for a project implemented in case of topic no. 11.

The co-financing level for research units is 100% The call for proposals for financing is held from 4 January to 26 February 2021. Detailed information about the competition can be found on the website.
