Open competition for participation in the project „Chiral nanocomposites with tunable optical properties for more efficient printed optoelectronic devices” financed in frame of the First Team FENG programme by the FNP Foundation for Polish Science
THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE MET BY THE CANDIDATE:
- Student status in one of the following majors: physics, chemistry, chemical technology, materials engineering, nanotechnology, or a related;
- Research interest in at least one of the following research areas: chemical synthesis (organic), materials chemistry (organic fluorescent dyes/organic semiconductors), physical chemistry (in particular optical spectroscopy or surface chemistry), optics and optoelectronics, organic electronics, printed electronics;
- Strong motivation to conduct research in the topics specified above and willingness to learn related laboratory techniques;
- Communication skills in English;
- Ability to work in a team, enthusiasm for further scientific development, creativity, and independence in planning and conducting experiments.
DESIRED ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- Experience in research work (materials chemistry, organic optoelectronics, optical spectroscopy of organic semiconductors, and/or printed electronics);
- Fluency in English sufficient to read scientific literature and elaboration of research results.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Scholarship: 2500 PLN/month during 10 months (financed from the project);
- Start date: 1st May 2026
- Scholarship contract for 10 months with possibility of extension (not longer than December, 31, 2029 r.);
- Opportunities to gain experience and professional development: Work in a young, dynamically developing team, access to unique research infrastructure. There exists the possibility to complete an internship with one of the foreign partners of the project (France, UK);

SCOPE OF WORK:
Conducting research in frame of one of the following research tasks:
- Optimizing the synthesis conditions of new organic dyes,
- Determining the structure and optical properties of new organic nanocomposites,
- Developing inks based on new fluorescent materials,
- Creating thin films of new materials using printing methods,
- Designing and manufacturing organic light-emitting diode (OLED) devices,
- Conducting ageing tests of new fluorescent materials.
The Student (f/m) will conduct research under the supervision of the project leader or another experienced team member. Based on the research results, the Student (f/m) will also be required to prepare interim reports.
