No fewer than 47 companies and institutions from various industries competed for students' votes in the main category, whereas in the two subcategories 28 and 13, respectively.

The Competition is organized on the initiative of the Careers Office of Lodz University of Technology and, as a result of strong interest from companies, has become a fixture on the university's agenda.

'Students are our most valuable resource, and we strive to provide them with the best possible preparation for their professional careers. The competition that is reaching its finale today is a role reversal. It is not the employers who evaluate students, as is the case during the Akademickie Targi Pracy. It is the students who vote for those employers who they believe to be the best,' said Vice-Rector for Development professor Paweł Strumiłło opening the gala.

'Whoever turns out to have won, the most significant thing is that together we are all building the local and global labor market, in an effort to lift it to ever higher levels', the organizers said. Commemorative diplomas presented to all the companies served a token of this sense of community.

Winners of the competition
The climactic point of the event was the announcement of the winners. The awards were presented by Vice-Rector for Science, professor Łukasz Albrecht, and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Witold Pawłowski, university professor.

The award in the main category The Best Employer of Łódzkie Voivodeship by Students of Lodz University of Technology 2023 was awarded to BSH - Home Appliances. The company was also honored for The Best Internship and Apprenticeship Program 2023 according to Lodz University of Technology students. In a nutshell, BSH - Home Appliances repeated its last year's success.

The winner in the category The Best Employer of the Lodz ICT Cluster by Students of Lodz University of Technology was Commerzbank Centrum Technologii Cyfrowych in Poland.

Representatives of the companies, while receiving the statuettes presented by the Vice-Rector professor Łukasz Albrecht, were proud and pleased that they were so well regarded by young people, who may well join their staff, and, to a great extent, are already members of it.

Special guest
The gala's keynote guest was Maciej Sawicki, AI expert, founder and CEO of inStreamly, a startup connecting more than 150,000 streamers with major brands in more than a dozen markets. His talk was centered on Late Modernity and Artificial Intelligence, or how AI changes the workplace.
