The inaugural assembly of the 5th Student Council was held at the seat of the Polish Space Agency in Warsaw, where new members from a number of Polish universities received nominations. Maciej Szulczewski from Lodz University of Technology stands out as academically and organizationally highly productive individual with a keen interest in the subject of space and the advancement of aerospace industry in Poland and the world. He is fascinated by space and plans to pursue a career in this field.
Maciej has participated in the European Space Agency's Fly A Rocket! and Direction Earth/Space programs. In the upcoming academic year, as a participant in the E2TOP program for high-achieving students, he will be working on the project 'Protective coatings for lunar exploration'. His research will be supervised by dr inż. Marcin Makówka, Institute of Materials Science and Engineering. He is also a student ambassador of the ECIU network of European universities, of which Lodz University of Technology is a member.
The Student Council to the President of the Polish Space Agency is an interdisciplinary advisory body consisting of 30 particularly gifted students from Polish universities, intended to promote the Polish aerospace sector. During the assembly, members of the Council spoke with the Vice President of the Polish Space Agency, dr Michał Wierciński, about the prospects for the advancement of space industry in Poland and the role of young people in this field.
