The agreement, signed by Rector Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik at the University of Warsaw, is a consequence of the establishment of the Poland in Silicon Valley Center, inaugurated in California this past July.
Speaking about the initiative's objectives, Prof. Jóźwik highlighted
‘the importance of building connections between Poland's leading academic and research institutions and Silicon Valley. These efforts will drive innovation and technological advancement’, he stated. The initiative will also support innovation clusters and offer Polish SMEs mentoring opportunities and access to Silicon Valley’s resources.
In addition to Lodz University of Technology, the agreement was signed by the University of Warsaw, AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Poznan University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Wroclaw University of Technology, and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. The Center’s operates under an open-door policy, allowing other Polish universities to join the agreement in the future.
The ceremony was attended by Science Minister Dariusz Wieczorek, Prof. Piotr Moncarz, who chairs the Poland in Silicon Valley Center, and other distinguished guests.
