Junge Uni, a children's university based at the University of Innsbruck, is the project coordinator, whereas the children's university Asociația Universitatea Copiilor from Bucharest is the other project partner.
The project kicked off on June 1 and will run until November 30. 21 young volunteers from the three children's universities: from Innsbruck, Bucharest and Lodz University of Technology, will take a week-long trip to Innsbruck. Planned for that week are workshops and providing support for the current activities and lectures for children in Innsbruck.
Anna Janicka, the director of the Children's University of Lodz explained:
The primary purpose of the project is to share experiences and reflect on the possibilities of organizing children's universities in a way that is environmentally friendly. For instance, we would like to use less electric power, paper, and re-use educational materials. We hope for our ideas to be useful not only for children's universities, but also for other similar enterprises.
The event in Innsbruck was preceded by two webinars where young people had the opportunity to get to know each other and plan their activities at the University of Innsbruck.
