The halfway point of the European Universities Games saw two fantastic events over the weekend. Both were organised on Piotrkowska Street, the heart of the city.

Saturday's Sambodrome was a dancing, singing and extremely colourful event, like a carnival in Rio. Athletes and volunteers were led by Brazilian dancers dressed in colourful costumes, moving beautifully to the rhythm of Latin American music.

Rector Jóźwik also invited Lodz residents to join in the fun, emphasising that the Games are an event organised for the residents to have fun and experience positive emotions. The musical parade started in front of the countdown clock set up for the Games.

Sunday saw the 6th edition of the Erasmus+ run which is a supporting event to the European Academic Games. A total of 88 four-person relay teams took part in the 10 km race. One lap was approximately 1 km long. All participants received medals for their participation in the race.
