On February 15 2024, prof. dr hab. inż. Dorota Żyżelewicz, a researcher at the Institute of Food Technology and Analysis at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science, by the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland dated April 22, 2021, was awarded the academic title of professor in the discipline of food and nutrition technology in the field of agricultural sciences.

Prof. dr hab. inż. Dorota Żyżelewicz works in the field of technology and analysis of food, especially food of plant origin. She is especially interested in health- promoting and anti-nutritional substances of food. Her findings are applied, among others, in the design of foods with functional, convenience, and special-purpose qualities, as well as bioactive preparations from raw plant materials and food industry by-products.

She is a member of the Committee on Food and Nutrition Sciences of Division II of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (third term), advisor to the Łódź Council of the Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations (NOT) - Technical Services Team for Innovation, member of the Polish Society of Food Technologists, and member of expert bodies evaluating research and innovation in Poland and abroad
