The document was signed by Rector Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik and Amentum’s Country Lead, Natalia Kunowska. The agreement covers a broad range of joint activities, including research projects, internships, workshops, study visits, and the development of academic programs related to nuclear energy.
Nuclear energy is one of the key directions in the development of a modern economy and energy transformation. For Lodz University of Technology, it is particularly important to educate specialists who will help shape this sector in the future. Cooperation with a partner like Amentum will allow us to better prepare our students and researchers for the challenges associated with the development of nuclear energy in Poland
- emphasized Professor Jóźwik.
One of the key elements of this cooperation will be the development of competencies among academic staff and students. The agreement includes training programs for university employees to support the development and updating of curricula in nuclear energy. The partners will also collaborate on creating and implementing degree programs—from undergraduate to postgraduate studies—in areas relevant to Poland’s nuclear program.
A significant part of the agreement will focus on direct support for students. Amentum plans to offer paid internships for Lodz University of Technology students, as well as study visits for students, PhD candidates, and university staff. The cooperation will also include academic competitions, workshops, and training related to the nuclear industry.
The main goal of this cooperation is to give our students the opportunity to gain both practical skills and a solid theoretical foundation, preparing them for successful professional careers. We believe that our joint initiatives will bring tangible benefits for participants and serve as an impetus for further development of the Amentum Competence Center in Poland. This partnership also strengthens our commitment to education and research. We are deeply dedicated to supporting the growth of human capital for Poland’s nuclear energy sector, and the agreement we have signed marks an important step forward in Amentum’s cooperation with the academic community
- emphasized Natalia Kunowska.
