At the ceremony, Prof. Jóźwik said

- When I ran for Rector in 2020, I pledged to create a kindergarten, so it is with great satisfaction today that I attend its grand opening. This is an important step towards sustainable development and completes the concept of Long-Life Learning. Lodz University of Technology is a university for generations, offering education for children, young people, students, young scientists and seniors

The project of reconstruction and energy modernization of the kindergarten was co-financed by the European Union. The cost of the modernization and renovation is more than PLN 7.5 million, of which nearly PLN 5 million comes from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

Rector prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik thanked the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy for the initiative to co-finance the renovation and said

- External support is extremely important, but I would also like to emphasize my appreciation for the team of employees of the Lodz University of Technology. I am grateful to Mrs. Agnieszka Kobalczyk, Bursar, and Mr. Włodzimierz Fisiak, Chancellor, for their help in implementing the project. I would like to thank the coordinator of construction works, managers and construction engineers. I would also like to thank the director, Agnieszka Baranowicz.

In a modern kindergarten building, photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof. Inside, on an area of 1,100 m2, over 100 children can be looked after and spend time in an attractive way. The new kindergarten has five modern playrooms, each with its own color and name.

- In each room there is an interactive monitor, toys, and play areas have been created in accordance with the principles of Maria Montessori pedagogy - says Agnieszka Baranowicz - We will do our best to make children spread their wings, reach for their dreams and develop self-confidence.

The kindergarten children can already use the playground, located next to the building. There will also be a garden next to it, where they will plant and grow vegetables, herbs and flowers.

The kindergarten has been operating since mid-September.

The children received a gift from the rector

Four children gave the guests a short performance, presenting vocal and reciting skills. There was a nice surprise for them, i.e. boxes full of Lego bricks, handed over by the rector, prof. Jóźwik.
