Prof. Matyjaszewski is closely associated with both Lodz University of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (USA). The award ceremony took place in Poznań during the 66th Congress of the Polish Chemical Society and the XI Congress of Chemical Technology, which were held concurrently.

This joint initiative offers an excellent platform for chemists and technologists to exchange experience, present research findings, engage in substantive discussions, and foster cooperation between universities and representatives of the economic sector.

Prof. Matyjaszewski has a longstanding relationship with Lodz University of Technology, where he began his education in chemistry. He studied at the Faculty of Chemistry and received his postdoctoral degree from the university in 1985. One of his most significant achievements is the development of Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) in 1995, which is now recognized as one of the most effective methods for synthesizing macromolecular compounds with well-defined structures.

The impact of his work is reflected in impressive metrics: over 131,000 citations and an h-index of 174 according to Web of Science. Prof. Matyjaszewski is the author of numerous publications and holds many patents, further underscoring his substantial contributions to the field of polymer chemistry.
