It is intended for high-school students and teachers across Poland. At the beginning of March, teachers from 65 schools have registered some 1,500 students.
The paramount goal of the Olympiad is to nurture the interests of young people, develop their learning skills, and activate their enthusiasm for learning. The event is held under the auspices of the Rector of TUL and the Dean of the TUL Faculty Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering.
What drives language instructors of the TUL Language Center, who are the originators and organizers of this education event, is the wish to promote and advance students' proficiency in the English language, with an emphasis on raising their competence in English for engineering. Students competing in the Olympiad will be better prepared for further education in institutions of higher education. This year's theme is intended to promote social responsibility and sustainable development for the sake of protecting the environment.
The Olympiad inspires closer cooperation between university and high school language teachers in the process of educating and tutoring young people, which adds value to an already worthy undertaking.

The Olympiad has two stages. The first, conducted at schools, takes place on March 15, 2024. The second and the final one is scheduled to be held on April 12, 2024 at the TUL Language Center.
The organizers are hoping to attract to the Olympiad prospective applicants for admission to Lodz University of Technology.
