AZS National Championships in para alpine skiing and para snowboarding, organized at the GrapaSki slopes in Czarna Góra, saw students of Lodz University of Technology winning 2 medals. The first was won by Anna Banachowicz (FTIMS) in the women’s snowboarding giant slalom competition. Anna’s time rendered her completely unbeatable. Then, a bronze medal was won by Agata Skalska (faculty of Chemistry). A third medal seemed within reach:  in men's alpine skiing competition, Piotr Pietrzak (WEEIA) reached the finish line in the fourth place.

Another competition in slalom was held on the slope in Małe Ciche. Again, TUL’s representation performed very well. Anna Banachowicz won her second medal: silver, this time. Other athletes missed the podium by hundredths of a second, but not without a fight against nearly fifty athletes representing other universities.

TUL KU AZS team, coached by Teresa Biela-Jesionowska, included snowboarders Anna Banachowicz and Agata Skalska and alpine skiers Katarzyna Łuczyńska and Piotr Pietrzak. TUL’s para athletes are favored with the unwavering support and assistance from the Office for Persons with Disabilities.
