The French Academy for Young Engineers (FAMI) concept debuted at the International Faculty of Engineering (IFE) in 2017. The pioneering initiative was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from students, their parents, and teachers, which is why another edition of the Academy has been held since then concurrently with the inauguration of each new academic year.

This year is special as FAMI has attracted its first strategic business partner: Veolia Energia Łódź S.A., with which Lodz University of Technology is engaged in cooperation in many areas of research and education.

The sponsorship agreement was signed by Anna Kędziora-Szwagrzak, President of the Board of Directors and Director General of Veolia Energia Łódź, and dr inż. Dorota Piotrowska, TUL prof., Head of the TUL Center for International Cooperation.

Thanks to the generosity of Veolia Energia Łódź, FAMI is set to acquire additional funds for further development of actions to promote French language and culture among young people, and the application of modern technologies.

On signing the agreement, President Anna Kędziora-Szwagrzak said,

'We decided to support FAMI because we believe in young talent, and because technology and cooperation with Lodz University of Technology are a matter of importance to us. We can't wait for the Academy's trainees to start developing projects for Veolia.’ She further added, 'I am convinced that Academy participants will go on to become TUL students and, later, valued employees of Veolia Energia Łódź.’
