The Gala event, concluding the 23rd edition of the Competition, was held in mid-February at Warsaw University of Technology. 28 dissertations from 10 Polish universities competed in this year's edition. The Competition, organized by the Stowarzyszenie Inżynierów i Techników Mechaników Polskich SIMP (Polish Society of Mechanical Engineers and Technicians), has been held under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Science.
This year's laureate of the first place, mgr inż. Michalina Zając, graduated from TUL with a degree in Automatic Control and Robotics. The awarded dissertation, Device for physical therapy of the human mandible, was prepared at the Institute of Machine Tools and Production Engineering. The certificate and the award were formally presented by the President of SIMP, prof. Tomasz Chmielewski.
For more than two years now, Michalina Zając has been working in the IT industry. As a member of international project teams, she has been dealing with the implementation of production management systems. She holds the position of software developer. This year, another edition of the Competition will be held, assessing dissertations (Bachelor and Master) completed in the academic year 2023/2024. Therefore, we warmly encourage students and their dissertation supervisors to submit their entries to the Competition. Submissions will be open until October 15, 2024. The Chair of the SIMP Lodz University of Technology Chapter, dr hab. inż. Wojciech Stachurski, TUL prof., will be accepting applications and answering any question with respect to the Competition.
