We are focusing today on those employed at the Lodz University of Technology who have been serving the public for many years. This is your celebration. The number of 129 laureates this year is impressive and fills me with joy. It is a token of appreciation for your commitment, work and passion, said the Rector of TUL, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, opening the awards ceremony.
Two scientists received Silver Crosses of Merit: Professor Krzysztof Strzelec from the Faculty of Chemistry and Dr. Eng. Jacek Nowakowski from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering at TUL. Dr. Łukasz Grzejszczak from the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design received a Bronze Cross of Merit. The Lodz Voivode, Marek Mazur, also awarded 73 individuals Medals for Long Service, including 21 employees who received gold medals, 27 silver medals, and 25 bronze medals.
The Commission of National Education Medals were awarded to 30 academic teachers who chose TUL as their place of development. The awards were presented by the Lodz Education Superintendent, Janusz Brzozowski.
The Rector of TUL, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, awarded the badge "Meritorious for Lodz University of Technology" to 15 employees of the university and 8 individuals from outside the institution.
During the Senate meeting, awards and distinctions were also given to students and graduates for outstanding achievements as well as diploma theses.
A very important part of the community at Lodz University of Technology is its students and graduates. It is with great pleasure that I will present awards today to the best among them—those distinguished in the past academic year, said Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik as he honored 10 top students representing various faculties at TUL. These individuals achieve excellent academic results and are involved in various pro-ecological and social activities: Rafał Bartosiak, Jeremi Przewoźny, Wojciech Welfe, Jakub Józiewicz, Aleksandra Rudnicka, Karina Skura, Maria Brzezińska, Aleksandra Browarska, Jakub Grząsik, Patryk Szreter.
- Dear Students of the Academic Year 2023/24: I congratulate you and thank you for showing every day that education is not only about striving for academic excellence but also about openness, empathy, and care for the common good, said Professor Witold Pawłowski during the ceremony.
The NOT Award for the best graduate of TUL was awarded to Engineer Natalia Słabęcka from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering for her thesis: The Influence of Preservatives on Mechanical Properties and Antibacterial Properties of Gelatin-Glycerin Material Used for Producing Biodegradable Actuators. The supervisor was Professor Jacek Sawicki, with Dr. Alicja Olejnik as co-supervisor. Additionally, four distinctions were awarded to graduates, along with prizes for students from companies collaborating with the university: Polmos Żyrardów and the National Labor Inspectorate.
Honorary badges for Senior Professors were awarded to Professor Krzysztof Dems from the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design and Professor Piotr Liczberski from the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology, and Applied Mathematics.
