In the Prof. Tadeusz Paryjczak Auditorium in the "Alchemium - the magic of tomorrow's chemistry" building, the Rector of Lodz University of Technology - Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik presented eight scientists with habilitation degrees and 65 with doctoral degrees in engineering and technology, natural sciences, agricultural sciences and social sciences.

Reaching the next step on the academic career path is a source of personal satisfaction for each of you, but also a source of pride for the university where this promotion takes place. This year's ceremony is also special because of the impressive number of academics receiving their diplomas today as they embark on a new stage in their professional lives. Behind these dissertations and appointments are months of hard and valuable work - said the Rector of TUL, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, during the ceremony.

In a special way, the Rector of TUL addressed six professors who have recently been nominated for professorships: Prof. Jacek Sawicki, Prof. Anna Fabijańska, Prof. Irena Wasiak, Prof. Piotr Polanowski, Prof. Marcin Koniorczyk and Prof. Hanna Kierzkowska-Pawlak. - Being a scientist myself, I know what an important moment it is to receive a professorial nomination," he said.

The ceremony was attended by the families and relatives of those honoured. For those who could not come to the Alchemium, the ceremonial meeting of the Senate was broadcast on the Internet by the Multimedia Centre of Lodz University of Technology.

Lodz University of Technology is authorised to confer doctoral and post-doctoral degrees in 12 disciplines. Seven of these are in the field of engineering and technology, three in the field of natural sciences, and one each in the field of agricultural sciences and in the field of social sciences.
