We would like to invite you to participate in the 1st International Congress on Regeneration of Industrial Cities, which will be held in Lodz in the EC1 Hall of Machines on June 22-23. Over 150 speakers from all over the world, including scientists from Lodz University of Technology, will take part in two days of debates, panel discussions, discussions, and presentations.


Congress participants included: Stefan Mayr (Supervien Urbanism Vienna), Filipo Logi (Siemens Mobility and HaCon), Sandra Piesik (3 idea B.V. Amsterdam), Janusz Michałek (Katowice Special Economic Zone), Joanna Erdman (ING), Naotoshu Mishida (Hitachi Europe) or Margrethe Vestager (European Commission).

Many representatives of Lodz University of Technology will also participate in the Congress: Dr Eng. Arch. Robert Warsza, in his lecture entitled "Marching through the jungle", will talk about the possibilities of implementing polycentric urban functional systems in Polish conditions. Dr Eng. Arch. Aneta Tomczak will present "The concept of zone in the process of city development". The panel 'Initiative of avant-garde artistic circles as an effective method of low-cost protection and survival of post-industrial monuments on the example of Lodz' will be chaired by Prof. Marek Janiak, and the discussion will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Eng. Artur Zaguła, TUL Prof. Assoc. Prof. Eng. Rafał Szrajber, will present "Tales of the city - heritage as a foundation for shaping narration-rich urban space", and Dominik Malinowski, a management student, will talk about "Increasing the efficiency and capacity of intersections behind cyclical traffic lights in the urban network".

For two days, representatives of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning, the Technology Transfer Section and Dr Monika Malinowska-Olszowy, TUL Prof. dealing with sustainable development in city management, will be present at the Lodz Academic stand.

The congress will be held in a hybrid form - stationary with all sanitary conditions maintained, and online, where the coverage will be available in real time. A special virtual platform will be available for registered participants, where interested parties will be able to follow the programme live, comment and ask questions on an ongoing basis, and network or access the expo area. The organisers of the event are: Lodz City Hall and Open Eyes Economy. The event is free of charge. Registration is required and is available at www.regeneracjamiast.pl.

An additional attraction for stationary Congress participants will be the possibility to visit the EC1 Science and Technology Centre and to watch a film in the EC1 Planetarium free of charge. For all those interested, not only the Congress participants, a mapping show has also been planned on the EC1 buildings, which will take place on 22 June at 10 p.m. Admission is free.
