Łukasz Adamek, M.Sc., a doctoral student at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering is taking part in an economic mission to Egypt (May 29-31) attended by the President of Poland. During the Poland-Egypt New Tech Forum in Cairo, Mr Adamek is presenting an innovative solution based on the use of thermal imaging to detect early symptoms of disease in animals.


According to the mission's theme – Innovative Technologies for Agriculture – the TUL student presented an innovative solution for non-contact temperature measurement for cattle, goats and sheep with the use of thermal imaging and automatic detection of early pathogenic symptoms.

The participation of a representative of Lodz University of Technology in the Forum is related to the research Mr Adamek is conducting as part of his doctoral studies as well as to his job at Smart Soft Solutions – a technology company. Łukasz Adamek, M.Sc. is writing his doctoral dissertation at the TUL Institute of Mechatronics and Information System. His supervisor is Professor Sławomir Wiak and assistant supervisor is Dr. Dorota Kamińska.

The mission was arranged by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and the National Chamber of Commerce.
