In the first stage, 14 applications from Lodz University of Technology were qualified for the 5th edition of the prestigious Ministry of Education and Science programme "Implementation Doctorate":
Implementation Doctorate I:
- Ageing and degradation processes in polymer coatings of fibre optic cables.
- Design and implementation of a knee joint stabilising orthosis using 3D printing and composite coatings.
- Preparation of durable and biodegradable composite using selected ionic liquids and biopolymers
- Flame retardant epoxy composites with enhanced degradability and/or compostability and defined biostatic characteristics.
- Landfill gas and biogas optimisation
- Microwave vulcanization of low density elastomeric technical foams for applications in the construction industry
- Application of polymers with self-healing properties for the modification of asphalt binders.
- Effect of redispersible polymer powders on selected physicochemical properties of thin-bed mortars containing CSA cement as a binder
- Synthesis of renewable energy sources: optimization of a photocathode in a fuel solar cell.
- Migration of components from non-pressure produced granulates obtained from environmentally hazardous waste.
- Method of automatic detection and elimination of ruptures in the snow blade frame
- Elevation coatings for specialised applications.
Implementation Doctorate II - artificial intelligence:
- Multi-directional organizing neural interface for automatic insurance claims assessment.
- Enhancing the effectiveness of machine learning using Cloud Native technology in edge devices.
Each project is assigned a candidate who, having passed the admission procedure to the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Schoolopens, will start training at Lodz University of Technology under the above-mentioned programme from October.
Participation in the programme provides the university with financial resources for:
- Doctoral scholarship referred to in Article 209(1) of the Act of 20 July 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science, hereinafter referred to as "the Act";
- an increase in the amount of a doctoral scholarship for a doctoral student fulfilling the conditions referred to in Article 209, section 7 of the Act;
- costs of social insurance, referred to in art. 6, section 1, item 7b of the Act of 13 October 1998 on the social insurance system ( Journal of Laws of 2021, item 423 and 619), the financing of which is the responsibility of the applicant;
- co-financing of the costs of using research infrastructure in order to implement the project by a doctoral student.
Lodz University of Technology will also apply in September as part of the second round of the programme.
