RUR by subject is an increasingly popular international ranking, created in collaboration with Clarivate Analytics. TUL has recorded an increase in two classifications: Technical Sciences - a slight rise from 525th place in 2020 to 520th in the current edition. Natural Sciences - a significant increase - 39 places, from 601st place in 2020 to 562nd. In the Natural Sciences classification, the highest increase was recorded in the "education" category - up 95 places, currently 441st. In the Technical Sciences classification, the highest increase was noted in the "financial stability" category, which rose by 113 places to 520th, comments Justyna Kopańska from the International Cooperation Centre at TUL.
In the Natural Sciences classification, there were 729 universities in total, including 6 Polish ones. The top spot belongs to the United States - the podium was taken by California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Princeton University, Stanford University. In the Technical Sciences table 790 universities were classified, including 4 Polish universities. The places on the world podium belong successively to the University of Oxford, California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and Peking University.
As Justyna Kopańska explains: The methodology of ranking by subject takes into account the same 20 indicators that are used in the institutional classification. They are grouped into 4 areas - education, research, internationalisation, and financial stability. In contrast, the RUR Ranking by subject takes into account a total of 6 areas: Humanities, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Technical Sciences. The publication of the results in each area takes place at different times. Last year, TUL was also ranked in Life Sciences and Social Sciences. We hope that this year will be similar.
The ranking is published by RUR Rankings Agency based in Moscow, established in 2013.
