As many as seven young scientists from Lodz University of Technology received scholarships of Minister of Science and Higher Education. The laureates conduct innovative scientific research and have significant achievements to their credit, also in the international arena.

The Minister awarded 217 scholarships to outstanding young scientists out of 1,897 applications. There are 52 PhD students in this group.

From Lodz University of Technology, scholarships were awarded to five young scientists with the degree of doctor of engineering/doctor and two PhD students. They are the only laureates representing Lodz universities.


TUL Rector, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, in his congratulations said:

I am extremely proud of the success of scientists who already at the beginning of their professional career have achieved significant results, conducting innovative research. I am glad that they have decided to develop their passion and career at Lodz University of Technology, a university that provides excellent prospects for talented people with great scientific potential.

List of scholarship holders of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists in 2021 from Lodz University of Technology:

  • Dr Eng. Monika Cysek-Pawlak from the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering. She was recognised for her achievements in the field of architecture and urban planning.

Four young researchers from the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering received scholarships for outstanding scientific activity in the field of chemical engineering:

  • · Dr Eng. Lucyna Bilińska from the Department of Molecular Engineering,

    · Dr Eng. Maciej Fronczak, from the Department of Molecular Engineering,

    · Dr Eng. Maciej Jaskulski from the Department of Environmental Engineering,

    · Dr Eng. Szymon Szufa from the Department of Occupational Safety Engineering.

Scholarship holders are also PhD students:

  • Paweł Czapski, MSc from the Department of Strength of Materials at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who has significant achievements in the field of mechanical engineering,

  • Damian Sokołowski, MSc from the Department of Construction Mechanics at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Archi-tecture and Environmental Engineering, recognised for his achievements in the field of civil engineering and transport.

The scholarships were granted for three years and their monthly amount is PLN 5,390.
