The project entitled "Sustainable Industrial Design of Textile Structures for Composites", coordinated by Prof. Marcin Barburski, from the Institute of Architecture of Textile at TUL, has been nominated for the title Symbol of the Synergy of Science and Business 2022.

Symbol is a nationwide programme aimed at promoting the best symbolic entities in their industries. More than 500 institutions have won the award over the past 11 years.

The SustDesignTex project, led by Professor Marcin Barburski from the Faculty of Materials Technology and Textile Design, has been nominated for this year's, edition of the competition, which is the 12th one. TUL was granted EUR 1.5 million from European funds for the project implementation.

There were scientific clubs among the participants and winners of the previous editions of the programme - among others: University of Rzeszow, Jagiellonian University, T. Kosciuszko University of Technology in Krakow, Medical University of Lodz, University of Life Sciences in Poznan, Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, Warsaw University of Technology, Rzeszow University of Technology, University of Wroclaw, Gdansk University of Technology, Wroclaw University of Technology, Poznan University of Technology, Warsaw University.

Companies and institutions such as: Energa S. A., KGHM Polska Miedź S. A., Grupa Lotos S. A., PKP Cargo S. A., Zarząd Morskiego Portu Gdynia S. A, PKP Intercity S. A, Polskie Koleje Linowe S. A. or Korporacja Ubezpieczeń Kredytów Eksportowych S. A., BP Polska Sp. z o.o., Raben Logistics Polska Sp. z o.o., Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych, Mokate S. A., Teldat Sp. z o.o., CEZ Polska Sp. z o.o., Office of Technical Inspection, Environmental Protection Inspection, Road Transport Inspection or NFOŚiGW were also a large group.
