The results of the latest edition of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings have been published. Lodz University of |Technology despite an increase in the number of universities competing in it from 1410 last year to 1591 in the current edition, managed to maintain its position from a year ago.

TUL received the highest marks for its efforts to achieve Goal 8. Economic growth and Decent work and economic growth , ranking 1st in the country (ex aequo with the Cracow University of Economics and the Wroclaw University of Life Sciences) placing it in the global TOP 200. In Goal 17. Partnership for the Goals, the University of Lodz was ranked between 301-400, placing it in the national top three. The university also competed in Goal 3. Good health and well-being, Goal 9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure and Goal 10. Reduced inequalities. You must remember that this is a very dynamic ranking and big changes can be expected in each edition, says TUL Rector Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik.

This year's ranking included 24 Polish universities - as compared to 15 in the previous edition - one of which was ranked only in single objectives, with no overall classification. The University of Gdańsk, Jagiellonian University and Cracow University of Economics were ranked between 401-600 position, while Lodz University of Technology, Gdańsk University of Technology, Warsaw University, Wrocław University of Life Sciences and WSB Academy were ranked in the 601-800 range. Another four Polish universities were ranked in the 801-1000 with another eleven in the 1001+ position.

he top places on the podium were taken by the following: Western Sydney University (Australia, 1st place in the 2022 edition), University of Manchester (UK, up from 9th) and Queen's University (Canada, up from 7th). The UK is the most represented country in the top 100 with 26 universities, followed by Australia with 16 and Canada with 15.

Lodz University of Technology is taking part in THE Impact ranking for the third time, thus showing its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals. Activities implemented in this area are described in annual Reports published on the university's website," explains the Rector.

THE Impact Ranking takes into account the university's efforts to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that form the basis of the so-called 2030 Agenda for a Sustainable World, adopted by the United Nations. Within these 17 goals, the Agenda sets 169 tasks to be achieved globally by 2030. They are located in 5 areas - the so-called 5Ps: people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership.
