Lodz University of Technology will host the ECIU Board in September. This important event will bring together representatives of 12 European universities and 1 from Mexico involved in joint activities for innovative education, scientific research and solving global social challenges.

The highlight will be the meeting of the ECIU Board, which includes rectors of the member universities, members of the Presidium, representatives of the Central Office, Institutional Coordinators, partners from non-governmental organisations and business, as well as student representatives. Łódź University of Technology is represented in this group by the Rector, prof. dr hab. inż Krzysztof Jóźwik, and dr inż. Dorota Piotrowska, prof. of TUL, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation.

The meeting in Łódź will be exceptional in scope, as it will also host parallel meetings of six ECIU working groups:

  • VP for Education - TUL representatives: dr hab. inż. Andrzej Romanowski, Vice-Rector for Education and dr hab. inż. Witold Pawłowski, prof. of TUL, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs,
  • VP for Research - TUL representative: prof. dr hab. inż. Łukasz Albrecht, Vice-Rector for Science,
  • Institutional Coordinators -TUL representatives: dr inż. Dorota Piotrowska, prof. of TUL, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation,
  • EduCo Expert Group - TUL representatives: dr inż. Dorota Piotrowska, prof. of TUL, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation, Justyna Kopańska, MA and Małgorzata Jarczyńska, MA from the Centre for International Cooperation,
  • R&I Expert Group -TUL representatives: dr hab. inż. Agnieszka Dybała-Defratyka, Director of the Science Support Centre at TUL, Agnieszka Tiele, MA, and Martyna Stawiana, MA, both from the Centre for Science Support at the TUL, and dr inż. Zbigniew Szamel, Director of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at TUL,
  • IPR Group - TUL representaitves: Bartosz Bacławski, MA, patent attorney.

These meetings will foster the exchange of experience, strengthen international cooperation, and help define the the future development of the entire consortium.

Hosting the ECIU Board meeting in Łódź demonstrates the active role of Lodz University of Technology in international initiatives for innovative education and research. It also provides an excellent opportunity to present the University as a modern, engaged institution committed to European academic cooperation.

The ECIU (European Consortium of Innovative Universities) brings together the following twelve European institutions:

The activities are implemented under the European Universities Support Programme, which is co-financed by the European Union under the project entitled Support for European University Alliances, number FERS.01.05-IP.08-0219/23.
