EIT Health powstało w 2015 r. jako „wspólnota wiedzy i innowacji” (KIC) Europejskiego Instytutu Innowacji i Technologii (EIT). Konsorcjum składa się z różnych wspólnot, z których każda koncentruje się na innym sektorze lub obszarze innowacji – w przypadku Politechniki Łódzkiej jest to zdrowie i starzenie się społeczeństwa. Ideą wspólnot EIT jest współpraca w celu dzielenia się fachową wiedzą w obszarze tak zwanego „trójkąta wiedzy”. Jest to zasada, zgodnie z którą eksperci z biznesu, badań i edukacji współpracując ze sobą, tworzą optymalne środowisko dla rozwoju innowacji.
Wdrożenie teorii „trójkąta wiedzy” wymaga od partnerów podejścia opartego na kooperacji. Dzięki temu możliwe jest przezwyciężanie barier i podejmowanie działań w celu udostępnienia innowacyjnych produktów i usług tym, którzy najbardziej ich potrzebują. EIT Health zapewnia możliwość i wsparcie w procesie tworzenia projektów międzynarodowych innowacyjnych, edukacyjnych oraz akceleracyjnych.
Wkrótce na stronie internetowej Politechniki Łódzkiej pojawi się specjalna zakładka poświęcona aktywności uczelni we wspólnocie EIT Health oraz możliwościom wsparcia badań naukowych, akceleracji rozwiązań biznesowych oraz edukacji dla studentów i młodych naukowców.

EIT Health was established in 2015 as the 'Knowledge and Innovation Community' (KIC) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The consortium consists of different communities, each of which focuses on a different sector or area of innovation – in the case of Lodz University of Technology, it is health and aging of the population. The idea behind the EIT communities is to work together to share expertise in the so-called 'knowledge triangle'. This is the principle according to which experts from business, research and education, working together, create an optimal environment for the development of innovation.
The implementation of the "knowledge triangle" theory requires a collaborative approach from partners. This makes it possible to overcome barriers and take action to make innovative products and services available to those who need them most. EIT Health provides opportunities and support in the process of creating innovative, educational and acceleration international projects.
Soon, a special tab will appear on the website of Lodz University of Technology devoted to the university's activity in the EIT Health community and opportunities to support scientific research, acceleration of business solutions and education for students and young scientists.
