Dr inż. Tomasz Marszałek is a graduate of three faculties at Lodz University of Technology: Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Chemistry.

In 2012, he completed his doctoral thesis in the Department of Molecular Physics, followed by a foreign research internship in Germany at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPI-P) (3.5 years) and the University of Heidelberg (1.5 years). Since 2018, he has been a research team leader at MPI-P and an assistant professor at the Department of Molecular Physics, Lodz University of Technology.

 

Dr. Marszałek conducts research on the role of crystallisation processes and self-assembly of organic and hybrid semiconductors on the transport of charge carriers in thin films applied in thin-film field effect transistors.

He is also the recipient of several awards including the award for the project "Organic field effect transistor with insulated gate" awarded by the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Scholarship for Young Scientists of the START Programme of the Foundation for Polish Science (2012), Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for Young Scientists (2017) or the Award for Outstanding Achievements Contributing to the Development of Science for Young Scientists Working in the Łódź Voivodeship (PAN Łódź 2019).

He is an author and co-author of more than 90 JCR-listed articles in scientific journals such as Nature Materials, Nature Communication, Advanced Materials and Advanced Functional Materials.
