Professor Guntarowska is Head of the TUL Institute of Fermentation Technology, member of the Council of Biodeterioration and Biodegradation Society, and Chair of the Lodz branch of the Polish Society of Microbiologists.
Her research concerns environmental microbiology, biodeterioration and disinfection of technical materials – including historic objects, biopreparations for agricultural and environmental applications, mycotoxins, allergens, organic acids and enzymes produced by moulds.
Professor Guntarowska’s achievements include 9 monographs and 230 articles published in journals.
She has managed 13 projects financed by international and national foundations.
She has co-authored 14 national patents and 5 medals at international innovation exhibitions.
Prof. Gutarowska has organized 11 international conferences on biodeterioration of technical materials and their protection. She has supervised 6 doctoral theses; 2 more dissertations are in progress.
