She conducts research on diagnostic methods to detect early cancerous changes using Raman spectroscopy, Raman molecular imaging and femtosecond laser spectroscopy.
Founder and director (since 1992) of the Laboratory of Laser Molecular Spectroscopy at TUL. Professor and head of the Marie Curie Chair in Berlin at the Max Born Institute (2007-2009). Organizer of the European Virtual University on Lasers.

Author and co-author of over 240 publications, including 140 scientific articles from the JCR list in the field of molecular spectroscopy, laser spectroscopy and biomedical diagnostics.
