He received the title of professor of mathematical sciences in 2011.

His main scientific interests are the theory of fixed points, functional analysis, the theory of operators on partially ordered sets, general topology and the theory of iterated mapping systems. Despite the theoretical nature of Professor Jachymski's work, some of his results have been applied by other authors in computer science and logical programming, in mathematical economics when studying Markov's process equilibrium states and in automatics theory.

He is the author of 67 scientific articles, 40 of which received over 1100 citations, including 1 which was cited 390 times (data according to the WoS database).

In the years 2011-2020 he wrote about 200 reviews for over 30 scientific journals.

He was a member of the scientific committees of conferences, incl. Polish-Israeli Mathematical Congress. He is a member of the editorial committee of the journals: Journal of Fixed Point Theory and Applications, European Journal of Mathematics, Fixed Point Theory and Issues of Analysis.

Between 2016 and 2020 he was a member of the Scientific Council of the Juliusz P. Schauder Center for Nonlinear Research.
