For many years, Lodz University of Technology has been at the forefront of inventiveness among Polish universities. This year's report of the Polish Patent Office does not include data containing information on the number of inventions submitted for protection by domestic and foreign entities. - Therefore, we do not have data to which we could refer and determine the position of TUL according to, for example, the criterion relating to the number of patent applications - explain employees from the Technology Transfer Division of TUL.

The Patent Office of the Republic of Poland has published the annual report for 2020. Lodz University of Technology has moved up one place in the ranking according to the number of granted patents filed for protection by domestic and foreign entities. Thus, TUL has come second with 73 patents received.
