Two start-ups associated with Lodz University of Technology made it to the final of the Startups Powered by Invest in Lodz acceleration program. The awards were presented at a gala ceremony on Sunday (3.12)

From Lodz University of Technology, the BioMatGel team was awarded. This is a trio of scientists from the Interdepartmental Institute of Radiation Technology, including Bożena Rokita, PhD, Agnieszka Adamus-Włodarczyk, MSc. and Radosław Wach, PhD. They were awarded for the development of MYURU - a biocompatible hydrogel mask for cosmetic use after invasive aesthetic procedures, which soothes swelling, irritation, and pain. The masks are safe to use and promote rapid skin regeneration. They are mainly intended for professional use in beauty salons and aesthetic medicine. The team received a prize from the Rector of TUL, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, amounting to PLN 8,000, as well as legal care.

The EcoCPR team project was also awarded. This is an ecological, low-cost mannequin for teaching first aid, developed jointly by medics, engineers, and artists. The team included Przemysław Sękalski, PhD, Director of the IT Center at TUL. The mannequin was created as part of the cooperation of specialists from Lodz universities: the Department of Rescue at the Medical University of Lodz - Dr. Marcin Cierniak and Dr. Filip Jaśkiewicz, and Dr. Rafał Dobruchowski - Director of the Institute of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Lodz. The team was awarded by the Rector of ASP with the amount of PLN 3,000, from companies: Active.pl they received PLN 8,000 and Hatrans - PLN 10,000. They will also receive support in product development from the Lodz Institute of Technology.

Startups Powered by Invest in Lodz is one of the most interesting Acceleration Programs in Poland, organized by the Office for Economic Development and International Cooperation of the City of Lodz. The aim of the program is to provide support to start-ups on their way to success in the business arena.

Lodz University of Technology was a strategic partner of the program.
