Rector and the Senate of Lodz University of Technology would like to invite everyone to the inauguration ceremony of the academic year 2021/2022 on 1st October (Friday) at 11 a.m


The event will take place in the Tadeusz Paryjczak auditorium, in the Alchemium building, 114 Żeromskiego St. It will be opened with an inaugural speech by the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik.

The programme promises to be exceptionally attractive. During the ceremony, five scientists will receive the title of Senior Professor, and the best students will receive commendations and awards for their academic achievements and special sporting achievements. A prize will also be given to the winner of a competition organised by the Lodz Federation of Science and Technology Associations NOT for the best master's thesis at Lodz University of Technology.

An important part of every inauguration is matriculation. This year it will be held in two groups: newly admitted students and doctoral students.

A tradition of the October celebrations is the inaugural lecture, which this year will be exceptional. As the Rector said while inviting to the beginning of the academic year, it will be a special kind of triathlon with the participation of: Aleksandra Bednarek - a student of biomedical engineering and winner of the Triple Crown in open water swimming, Kajetan Duszyński - a PhD student at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at TUL and gold medallist at the Tokyo Olympics in the 400 m mixed relay, and Professor Katarzyna Pernal - an outstanding physicist and Polish Champion in road cycling.

The entire event will be broadcast by TUL Multimedia Centre.
