Lodz University of Technology has moved up in all four areas evaluated in the ranking, gaining the most in the "education" category. In the national classification, the university came just behind the podium, in 4th place.

This is the second time the university has been ranked in the Round University Ranking. The greatest increase in points was noted in the category of internationalisation - by 33 percent and research - by 28 percent.

The 2021 edition included 869 universities, including three universities and three technical universities from Poland. All Polish universities advanced, with Lodz University of Technology recording the biggest jump up, moving 38 places. This is the greatest progress among Polish universities classified in this ranking.

The top of the RUR ranking in this edition belongs to the United States - on the podium are Harvard University, California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and Stanford University. Polish universities were classified as follows: Jagiellonian University - 358, Warsaw University - 363, Warsaw University of Technology - 540, Lodz University of Technology - 627, Gdansk University of Technology - 634, University of Lodz - 653.

The methodology of the ranking takes into account 20 indicators grouped into 4 areas - education, research, internationalisation and financial stability. The

ranking is published by RUR Rankings Agency based in Moscow, established in 2013.
