The project concerns an extremely important topic: data protection in cloud applications. A team of scientists from the Institute of Information Technology at TUL and specialists from the LTC company intend to develop a new technology using artificial intelligence algorithms and Data Science. The National Centre for Research and Development has granted a 2.5 million PLN grant from the Operational Programme "Intelligent Development" for this purpose.

Project coordinator at the university, Professor Piotr Lipiński from the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics, explains what the new technology is about:

The core of the innovation of our technology will be integrated anomaly detection solutions using artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. This combination will ensure the highest guarantees of authenticity and integrity for all components of the computing cluster and thus a high level of cyber security. Thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms, defective, attacked microservices or cluster components will be automatically eliminated from processing protected data. A cluster secured in this way will be able to defend itself against attacks. Any attempts to circumvent the security are recorded using blockchain technology, which will translate into non-repudiation of business transactions performed in the cluster.

The title of the implemented project is: Environment for building and operating secure applications running in the cloud based on intelligent anomaly detection in computing clusters and blockchain/DLT cryptographic techniques .
