Several hundred scientists representing leading universities, research institutes, and R&D centers from around the world have come to Łódź. The presence of Professor Susumu Kitagawa, recipient of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, is one of the most significant highlights of the conference.
We are hosting scientists who set global directions for the development of chemistry. Discussions focus on solutions that have a real impact on our lives—from the development of new drugs and materials to technologies supporting climate protection and sustainable development. That is why the ICOS conference has remained one of the most important events for the global chemical community for half a century,
says Professor Łukasz Albrecht, Vice-Rector for Science at Lodz University of Technology and Chair of the Organizing Committee.
Hosting ICOS at Lodz University of Technology reflects the trust of the international scientific community and confirms the university’s growing position on the global research map. The event is organized with the support of the Polish Chemical Society and under the auspices of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). The sessions are held at Alchemium, the university’s modern science center.
The conference is held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Mayor of Lodz, the Marshal of the Lodz Voivodeship, and the Rector of Lodz University of Technology.
