Prof. Jan Awrejcewicz, an outstanding mechanical specialist, head of the Department of Automation, Biomechanics and Mechatronics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUL was among this honourable group.

Members of the Polish Academy of Sciences are elected from among scientists who are distinguished by special scientific achievements and authority, and have an impeccable reputation. The Academy consists of national members (full and corresponding) and foreign members. Membership in the Polish Academy of Sciences is for life.

Prof. Jan Awrejcewicz is a full member of the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (4th Faculty). It represents the discipline - h-index mechanical engineering: 33 (Scopus).
