The iLumen European Solar Challenge competition in Belgium at Circuit Zolder proved once again lucky for the students of Lodz Solar Team from Lodz University of Technology. During the competition, their Eagle Two car circumnavigated the track 140 times on a single charge, scoring the second for the distance covered.

After adding up the scores from the pre-race tests, as well as from the race itself, it turned out that Lodz Solar Team was unbeatable in the general classification. We have thus won the title of European Champions! - says proud and happy Weronika Grzesiak from the Marketing Department of TUL team.

In this year's edition of European Solar Electric Car Championship, which concluded last weekend (17-18.09), 18 teams divided into two categories: Cruiser and Challenger competed. A team of Lodz University of Technology students represented the university and Poland in the Cruiser category.

This is yet another success for students from Lodz University of Technology in the iLumen European Solar Challenge. Lodz Solar Team has dominated the competition in Belgium in recent years, triumphing in 2018 and finishing second in 2021. European Solar Electric Car Championship is based on the rules of the now legendary Le Mans race and lasts 24 hours.

Lodz Solar Team is part of the Automotive Enthusiasts Scientific Circle, operating at the Institute of Turbomachinery, TUL at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
