The Erasmus+ National Agency and the European Solidarity Corps have announced the results of the projects selected for Action 2 - Cooperation Partnerships for Higher Education competition 2023. Lodz University of Technology has received funding for three proposals amounting to €1.2 million.

The themes of the selected projects relate to activities to increase the employability of recent graduates, combining in education an understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals with the development of emotional intelligence, and designing immersive 3D experiences using virtual reality. Each project was awarded a maximum grant of €400,000.

  • The #edu4sdgs project ('Building a Comprehensive Educational Ecosystem for Sustainable Development Goals') will be implemented by the International Cooperation Centre of TUL (ICC). It is designed to enhance the contribution of higher education to the Sustainable Development Goals. Training courses, a summer school and webinars have been planned for students, lifelong learners, education and training providers, as well as teachers and educators. The partners of TUL are: universities from Spain and Latvia, an NGO from Spain, a German accreditation body and a business partner from Poland. The project coordinator is Dr inż. Dorota Piotrowska, TUL Prof., director of the ICC.
  • The project 'Best practices for high-immersion experience design' deals with immersive technologies, mainly the design of immersive 3D experiences, which are a good support for learning, especially through the use of virtual reality (VR). The project, carried out in collaboration with universities from Portugal and Spain, will develop training materials for 3D designers. The coordinator is Dr inż. Grzegorz Zwoliński from the Voxel Research Lab team at TUL.
  • The project 'Blended Outdoor Learning for fostering the employability of new graduates' addresses the need to bridge the gap between formal education and the needs of a rapidly changing society and labour market. A training programme based on outdoor learning methodologies will be developed to meet the objective. The project coordinator is Dr inż. Anna Laska-Leśniewicz from the Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems at TUL. The partners include universities from Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal and a Spanish training company.

In this edition of the Collaborative Partnerships for Higher Education competition, 14 projects were shortlisted, including three projects from TUL.
