We have completed an investment that has completely changed the A7 building. It has gone from being a heat emitter to being practically a zero-emission building, said the Rector of TUL, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik. Appropriate insulation, modern ventilation systems allowing heat recovery, and energy monitoring and management systems, water-saving fittings, energy-efficient lighting, and photovoltaics are just a few elements of the enormous scope of work that has been done here. The added value of these actions is the reduction of emissions of harmful substances and dust. The building has also gained a new layout of rooms, with a primary emphasis on laboratory functions. It will serve education and research.

Built in monolithic-prefabricated construction in the 1960s, the hall has gained a second life. Now it is an ecological building where the latest technologies have been applied. The windows and doors were replaced, and the walls and roof were insulated in the building.

The renovated facility will house laboratories and classrooms of the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering. An important part of the space given will be occupied by the Centre of Excellence in Universal Design, created as part of the "Accessible Lodz University of Technology" project.

The cost of implementing the Centre was almost PLN 19 million, of which PLN 10 million was obtained by the university from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

The investment project was co-financed by the European Union under the Cohesion Fund. The contractor for this task was the company "JAWBUD Sp. z o.o."
