We know the winners of the competition organised by the Rector of TUL for the best description of the impact on the functioning of society and economy in criterion III of scientific discipline evaluation. Twenty four applications were submitted. On Thursday, 23 September, the competition was adjudicated.


The jury, chaired by Professor Michał Strzelecki, evaluated the entries. The best studies were sent to foreign reviewers. The announcement of the results and presentation of commemorative diplomas took place in the Alchemium building in the hall named after Professor Paryjczyk, where deans of departments, heads of disciplines, leaders of the submitted presentations and members of their teams gathered.

Rector Professor Krzysztof Jóżwik presented awards to four teams. The first place and the prize of 20 000PLN was awarded to the research group of Professor Piotr Kula for the description of the impact of the Vacuum FineLPC®, PreNitLPC® technologies- a breakthrough in global termochemical treatment for the automotive, aviation and engineering industries. The second place and the prize of 10 000 PLN was awarded to the team of Professor Piotr Ulański for the Development, optimization and implementation into production of a radiation technology for manufacturing hydrogel dressings for treatment of burn wounds. Two equal prizes of 5000 PLN for third place were awarded for: Shaping and promoting pro- ecological market attitude ( team leader- Assoc. Prof. Małgorzata Koszewska, TUL Prof.), and Restoring, protecting and development of cultural heritage wih the use of 3D, AR and stereoscopy technologies ( team leader- Assoc.Prof. Eng. Piotr Napieralski, TUL Prof.).

During the meeting, the leaders of the awarded teams had the opportunity to present their studies. Presentations gave rise to a broad and interesting discussion moderated by Professor Łukasz Kaczmarek.

The conference was summed up by Professor Łukasz Albrecht, Vice- Rector for Science, who emphasized that today’s award ceremony will mark the beginning of a series of meetings intensifying further the already advanced preparations of TUL for the next year’s scientific disciplines evaluation.

The competition and the event were coordinated by the University Office for Development, as part of task 3.2 supporting realization of III University mission from the task budget of TUL.
