These were awarded in the accreditation assessment procedure carried out by Fundacja Rozwoju Edukacji i Szkolnictwa Wyższego [Foundation for the Development of Education and Higher Education] and the PRC Agency. An additional Aurea Praxis award was granted to the Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, for his special, personal involvement in the development and promotion of the idea of education for the labour market and business.

The diploma and the statuette were received by Vice-Rector for Education, Assoc. Prof. Eng. Andrzej Romanowski, TUL Prof., during a gala ceremony held on 2 July in Warsaw (on the picture with Professor Dariusz Rott).

Since 2011, the University of Leaders programme has been accrediting universities distinguished by their innovative approach to education. The reviewers, members of the Certification Committee, pay particular attention to actions taken with the aim of educating leaders, preparing graduates to pursue careers in today's labour market.

- The award is a success and confirms that Lodz University of Technology is a university where education creates excellent career prospects for its graduates. Extensive cooperation with companies enables students to gain experience and learn about their own opportunities. Appreciating the importance of internationalisation, we offer studies in English and French, which opens up the European and global labour market. Following the example of our partners - the best universities in the world rankings - we introduce innovative educational methods. For many years we have been developing project-based education, placing emphasis on the implementation of active learning methods, such as blended learning or flipped education, which increase students' involvement in acquiring knowledge. We also focus on the development of the most talented students by offering them mentoring. There are many of these activities, and the certificate we have received is an impulse to take further actions - says Rector Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik.

This year the competition applications were evaluated by experts with extensive scientific and practical experience in the field of education quality management. The decision to grant the certificate "University of Leaders" was based on two reviews by members of the Certification Committee. It was chaired by Professor Dariusz Rott, a former member of the Presidium of the Central Council for Science and Higher Education and an expert at the Ministry of National Education, currently director of the Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre at the University of Silesia.
