We know the results of the Student - Inventor competition. Among the winners are doctoral students from Lodz University of Technology, Pawel Kielanowski and Lukasz Adamek, whose patent concerns animal temperature monitoring.

The competition is organized by the Kielce University of Technology for young creators, who during their studies became authors or co-authors of the patented invention.

- The inspiration to develop the device was the need to reduce the amount of antibiotics used in animal breeding, while easily detecting the first symptoms of disease in the herd - says Paweł Kielanowski.

The patent for the "Device, method and system for monitoring animal temperature" was granted in 2019, and the international PCT procedure is currently being completed. Its co-developers, besides Paweł Kielanowski and Łukasz Adamek, graduates of the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, are TUL employees: mgr inż. Hubert Gęsiarz and dr inż. Przemysław Sękalski.
According to its creators, ThermoEye makes it possible to react faster to a health problem in the herd. Speaking about the advantages of the system, Przemysław Sękalski emphasizes the remote access to the measurement data and the high bio-assurance standards. The system of marking animals with elevated temperature informs the breeder about this fact and at the same time allows for isolating the indicated animals.

- The system for early detection of diseases in herds consisting of tens of thousands of animals will make it possible to limit the preventive use of antibiotics, which is not without significance for human health, says Paweł Kielanowski.

The creators of the patent have created a startup that successfully develops further ideas and implements interesting projects combining technology with solutions for market needs. The experience gained in the ThermoEye project led to the design of QuickTemp system for detecting fever in humans,
