Nanotechnology, a second-cycle field of study offered by the Faculty of Chemistry, has obtained the accreditation of the Accreditation Commission of Universities of Technology (KAUT) and the EUR-ACE European Accreditation of Engineering Programmes quality certificate.

KAUT accreditation is voluntary. By applying for the evaluation of the given programme and the quality of education, the Faculty is offered valuable information by experts from outside the university. The accreditation process focuses on whether the given field of study meets standards accepted by European committees aimed at providing proper education to engineers. The ultimate goal is to ensure a level of education that is satisfactory for future graduates, hence not only the representatives of scientific circles take part in the evaluation process, but also students and companies (potential employers). The accreditation also confirms a high level of scientific education, without which it is impossible ensure a proper, high level of university education, adequate for the challenges that engineers are facing nowadays.
Prof. Małgorzata Iwona Szynkowska-Jóźwik, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, says:

- By highly evaluating Nanotechnology, one of the fields of study that our Faculty offers, the Commission has emphasized the scientific achievements and teaching skills of our academics. The experts have paid their attention to the attractive curriculum which makes it possible for students to gain knowledge of a cutting-edge and fast-developing branch of science. Our laboratories were also highly appreciated as places where students gain knowledge and the ability to use it in practice. Another strength of ours is the possibility of obtaining a dual diploma (of Lodz University of Technology and the University of Twente) offered to students of nanotechnology.

The Nanotechnology field of study has obtained the accreditation until February 19th 2026, that is, for the longest possible period of five years.
